Chela Films is founded by Jerry Aquino who is a Director and Director of Photography based in Jersey City, NJ. Jerry began studying photography, art, and music at an early age. He obtained an M.F.A in the Integrated Media Arts and Production program at New Jersey City University. 

The company's name originates from an amazing woman who migrated from the Dominican Republic to the United States in the 1960's. Cristina "Chela" Frias embodied integrity, honor, respect and humility. To Jerry Aquino she was grandma to our company she is the essence and the core value in which we operate.
